Queretaro, Qro. Bombardier, an aerospace company of Canadian origin, confirmed that it will expand its facilities in the entity, with the addition of 600 jobs.
According to Bombardier’s CEOÉric Martel, the firm made the decision to increase its workforce after visiting the state, who highlighted the characteristics of human capital in the entity.
“We are very happy with the presence of Bombardier in Queretaro, which is already many years old. We visited it in March and saw the facilities, so once we returned, we made the decision to increase our workforce with 600 new jobs in Querétaro in the following years”, she declared.
During his tour in Canada, on the first day of activities, the governor, Mauricio Kuri González, visited the Bombardier headquarters in Montreal, where the company’s growth plans were reiterated. In the meeting with directors of the Canadian, they discussed the company’s investment plans in the state.
Bombardier was established in Querétaro in 2006, for which it adds 16 years of operations in the entity. At its facilities, it manufactures structural components that are key to the company’s main commercial aircraft.
Just at the end of August, the Canadian announced that it will maximize its aerospace parts manufacturing operations in the entity.
With this project, the firm ratified Mexico as a strategic country for its global projects, because it has characteristics such as a highly qualified workforce, in addition to the technological capacity of its facilities and the educational system.
For this project, the system of technical schools that provide support to the industry was taken into account, as well as the sustainability of the supply chain, solid macroeconomic indicators, the installed industry, among other points, highlighted the aerospace firm.
In Mexico, it manufactures world-class components as well as complex systems for Bombardier’s Challenger and Global business jets, including the rear fuselage for the flagship Global 7500 aircraft.
Since his arrival in Mexico in 2006, he has invested more than 500 million dollars, employing 1,200 people. By 2022, the company plans to deliver 120 aircraft worldwide, for which it will allocate 250 million dollars to various projects, seeking to consolidate itself as the leading manufacturer of business aircraft.
From 1999 to June 2022, Querétaro has received 2,301 million dollars of Canadian investment, making this country the third largest investment in the state, according to the Ministry of Economy.
