Dozens of migrants have been offloaded at Dover following five days of no small boats being detected in the Channel. New photos show around 50 new migrants arriving into the port today after being picked up by Border Force. It could be the last opportunity for migrants to cross in better weather conditions, as Storm Babet will sweep into Britain from tomorrow night. Latest figures from Gov.uk show that there were no migrants or small boats crossings detected at all between October 11 and October 15.

This comes as the Mail revealed there has been a sharp rise in the number of small boat migrants being removed from Britain. Home Office data revealed that 628 Channel migrants were deported in the first six months of 2023, compared to 382 in the whole of 2022.This is largely due to an agreement signed with Albania in December which gives Britain greater powers to deport illegal Albanian’s in the country.Of the 628 removals from January to June, 512 were Albanian.Home Secretary, Suella Braverman has overseen a crack down on immigration laws in an attempt to stem the number of migrants crossing the channel. In the latest move she is looking to exclude migrants who arrive into the UK on small boats from the asylum system, which would limit their grounds for appeal and make them liable for deportation.
