A New York gentleman who has spent 33 decades in prison for killing his mother and father and brother and injuring his sister is slated for launch at the earliest on April 10, according to the point out Office of Corrections and Neighborhood Supervision.
Brian Britton, now 50, was 16 when he shot and killed his father Dennis, his mom Marlene, and brother Jason, and shot his sister, Sherry Shafer, who was 18 at the time, on March 22, 1989, in their city of Poughkeepsie home.
Britton was sentenced to 25 many years to life in jail.
Britton appeared just before the parole board on March 6 and he will be introduced upon finishing his neighborhood preparation, which could be on, or after, April 10, a state Office of Corrections and Neighborhood Supervision statement reported.
By law, the board also considers tips from the district attorney, sentencing court and the protection attorney.
The Board of Parole’s November 2021 decision to deny parole for Mr. Britton was appealed and he was granted a de novo interview in March.

The board’s discussion and factors for granting his launch weren’t readily available. The board declined to remark on the motives it granted Britton’s release this time, via a department spokesperson.
The Dutchess County District Attorney’s place of work opposed Britton’s parole in a letter it despatched to the board in advance of the March 6 listening to, and it objects to the selection reached by the parole board, according to Main Assistant District Attorney Matthew Weishaupt.
