Waters continued, “I mean, didn’t the Israeli military hear the explosions at all the bases when they blew up what they had to blow up to cross the border? There’s something very strange about this.”
The interviewer then asked him whether it was possible to justify the attack carried out by Hamas, and he replied, “We do not really know what they did. But was resistance to the occupation justified? The answer is yes, this is what the Geneva Convention stipulates and from a moral standpoint, they must resist the occupation.” Which began in 1967. This is their duty.”

In response to the accusation that he prefers the lives of Palestinians to those of Israelis, Waters said, “What absolute nonsense. This is the difference between my platform and the Israeli government’s program: I believe in equal human rights for all our brothers and sisters everywhere.”

The founder of the “Pink Floyd” band responded to the rising accusations of “anti-Semitism” directed against him due to his frank criticism of Israel by saying, “This is because they do not have an answer to the argument, and this shows that you at least have a platform and that people are listening to it and that they are not listening to them.”

The rock singer – known for his support of the rights of the Palestinian people – also spoke about the massacres that Palestinians are subjected to at the hands of the Israeli occupation, saying, “I am 80 years old, and this is the most terrible thing that is happening before my eyes. However, the United States government, and all its affiliated countries in Europe “You give the Israelis carte blanche to kill.”

On March 16, Roger Waters announced his intention to take legal action against the German municipalities of Frankfurt and Munich after the decision to prevent him from holding his concerts due to his positions and on the grounds of “anti-Semitism.”

Waters, through his account on the “X” platform – formerly “Twitter” – attached a statement in which he said that his lawyers were taking the necessary legal measures to ensure that his concerts would be held in Frankfurt and Munich.
In May 2021, a large number of international musicians and artists, including Roger Waters, signed an open letter in which they called for a cultural boycott of Israel and support the Palestinian cause.
The British singer posted a video clip on his account to denounce the violence committed by Israel in Jerusalem, and described the process of evacuating Palestinian families as similar to “genocidal practices.”

Waters had visited Jerusalem and Bethlehem under the protection of the United Nations in 2006, and personally saw the apartheid wall. Since that day, he decided to stand by the Palestinians and called on Israel to demolish the wall, and refrained from holding concerts in Tel Aviv.
In 2011, Waters wrote an article in the British newspaper The Guardian, in which he expressed his support for the Palestinians and his rejection of Israel’s policy of apartheid.
In his article, he spoke about the residents of Gaza as well, saying that they are “effectively imprisoned behind Israel’s illegal siege wall,” and describing the suffering of children suffering from malnutrition and insecurity.
Waters’ position in support of Palestine did not go unnoticed, so he was accused of “anti-Semitism” and was subjected to systematic campaigns on social media, but he nevertheless remained committed to his position.
