Britney Spears‘ boyfriend had a run-in with the law on Monday after being involved in a minor car accident.
The 27-year-old actor got into a fender-bender with another woman’s car when he was about 10 minutes away from Britney’s house in Thousand Oaks, California, on Monday, law enforcement sources told TMZ.
Luckily, neither Sam nor the woman he hit were injured, and neither party was cited for the accident.
Close call: Britney Spears’ boyfriend Sam Asghari, 27, got into a minor car accident on Monday
In an Instagram Stories video posted later on Monday, Sam admitted getting into the accident and revealed that he’d had the green Jeep Rubicon for ‘less than two weeks’ before the collision.
In video taken at the scene, the Black Monday actor was seen in a blue tank top and shorts as he spoke with police officers, while the other driver appeared to be sitting in her backseat.
Sam didn’t beat around the bush in his Instagram video and accepted blame at the start.
‘I just got in a car accident,’ he admitted while kneeling in front of his Jeep’s bumper.
No big deal: Law enforcement sources told TMZ that it was a minor fender-bender that occurred about 10 minutes from Britney’s home
Responding to the scene: In video taken at the scene, the Black Monday actor was seen in a blue tank top and shorts as he spoke with police officers, while the other driver appeared to be sitting in her backseat
Size difference: Sam had been driving a green Jeep Rubicon, while the other woman was in a much smaller Saturn
Free to go: Despite him being at fault, sources said no one was cited
‘Was it my fault? Yup!’ he continued.
The former personal trainer also made clear that his biggest concern was for the other driver’s safety.
‘Is the other person OK, most importantly? Yes, and that’s a good thing,’ he continued.
‘When situations like this happen, guys, always think of it as if it’s preventing the bigger bad thing from happening,’ he explained.
‘Always think of the positive things and just enjoy life. As long as you’re OK, and the other person’s OK, everything else is fine. You don’t need to ruin your day about it.’
Honest: ‘I just got in a car accident,’ he admitted while kneeling in front of his Jeep’s bumper in an Insta Stories video
Laying the blame: ‘Was it my fault? Yup!’ he continued
Sam also revealed that he hadn’t engaged in some of his usual superstitious practices with his new car, which he seemed to think might have prevented the accident.
‘I didn’t do this — we’re going to do this together — you’re supposed to put an egg under the tire,’ he said as he held a brown chicken’s egg aloft.
He said the egg should be placed just behind one of the car’s tires, and the vehicle should roll backwards over it.
He ended the video just after placing the egg on the ground behind his tire before presumably making a mess of it.
Everyone’s OK: ‘Is the other person OK, most importantly? Yes, and that’s a good thing,’ he continued
Could have been worse: ‘When situations like this happen, guys, always think of it as if it’s preventing the bigger bad thing from happening,’ he explained. ‘Always think of the positive things and just enjoy life’
Whatever works: He seemed superstitious and said he was going to backup over an egg for good luck
On Saturday, Sam was spotted in the passenger seat of his girlfriend Britney’s car as she drove them around.
The following day, he posted video from the outing to his Insta Stories, which showed Britney singing along to her song Lonely and turning up the volume.
His new accident raises questions about whether Sam will be allowed to drive Britney in the future.
She previously complained in a furious statement in court that her conservatorship wouldn’t allow the Iranian-born actor to drive her in his car, and even a minor car accident may not help the odds of him being allowed to chauffeur her.
Not helping: His new accident raises questions about whether Sam will be allowed to drive Britney in the future, as Britney said in court that he’s not allowed to drive her in his car
That’s all for now: Britney said her fans could only look forward to dance videos from home until her father wasn’t making her financial decisions for her in his role as conservator
Shortly before the outing, Britney took aim at her father Jamie Spears, who runs her conservatorship, in an expletive-filled Instagram post.
She defended her many dance videos and said her fans wouldn’t see her on stage again as long as Jamie was in charge of her finances.
The Toxic singer reserved special fury for her sister Jamie Lynn Spears, 30, who made a surprise performance at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards to cap off a tribute with a performance of her sister’s song Till The World Ends.
In video of the performance, the songstress joins her mother in standing and clapping along with the song, but she appears to look less than enthused.
‘I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!!!!’ she admitted. ‘My so-called support system hurt me deeply!!!!
‘This conservatorship killed my dreams,’ she continued, ‘so all I have is hope and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill … yet people still try!!!!’

Awkward: Britney hugged her sister after the show and was seen clapping, but she looked less than enthused in video of the event
Britney later shaded her sister in the caption to another one of her dance videos.
Jamie Lynn took to Instagram on Sunday to share selfies with the caption: ‘May the peace of the Lord be with you, and your spirit.’
After she posted the religious message, Britney shared a dancing video with the caption: ‘May the Lord wrap your mean a** up in joy today… this is Bad Guy part 2 … same song new dance… if you don’t like it … don’t watch it!!!!!’
Afterward, Jamie Lynn deleted her caption, replacing it with emojis.
Prior to calling out her sister, Britney scored a victory in court when she was allowed to choose a new attorney, Mathew Rosengart, to replace her old lawyer Samuel Ingham, who resigned from her case.
On June 23, Spears told the court: ‘I haven’t really had the opportunity by my own self to actually handpick my own lawyer by myself. And I would like to be able to do that.’
Rosengart told the court on Wednesday he would be filing paperwork in the next few week to end the arrangement that has been in place since 2008.
