Clashes occurred between British police and protesters against the general isolation due to Corona, during a march in the center of the British capital, London.
Police said they arrested 33 people, most of them for violations of Corona’s rules, after they gathered up to ten thousand people carrying banners with slogans such as “Stop destroying our children’s lives” and “The fake epidemic.”
The protesters, gathered near each other, fired flares.
Coronavirus rules in Britain prohibit gathering for the purpose of protest, but opposition to such measures increased last week.
The police were criticized for using violent methods to disperse an open-air protest by 33-year-old Sarah Everard on March 13, and a policeman was accused of kidnapping and killing her.
More than 60 British lawmakers sent a letter to Home Secretary Priti Patel on Friday, demanding that protests be allowed during lockdown.
They said that “participation in a demonstration should not be considered a criminal offense.”
