The announced interest of the Nuggets in Bryn Forbes has taken little time to materialize. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Colorado franchise has acquired the shooting guard’s services in an exchange that includes two other teams: Boston and San Antonio.
As part of the deal, the Celtics receive Bol Bol and PJ Dozier from Denver, while the Spurs acquire Spaniard Juancho Hernangómez and Denver’s second-round pick for 2028.
The Nuggets’ goal with the trade is to improve their outside shooting. They currently rank 18th in the NBA with a 34.5% accuracy rate. Adding Forbes to its workforce, who according to ESPN Stats he’s third in percentage counting the last four seasons behind only Joe Harris and Seth Curry, and he’s certainly a step forward in that direction. In addition, to achieve this, they release a player who will not be available for the rest of the season and another who will soon undergo surgery.
As for the Celtics, for them it is a mere economic saving. To begin with, they clear 4.3 million dollars from their payroll, something very important to avoid the luxury tax. In addition, the commitment to PJ Dozier and Bol Bol ends in the summer, with the latter being a restricted free agent.
