World No 1 Novak Djokovic to face Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Diego Schwartzman in round robin stage at ATP Finals
- The Serb will face Paris Masters winner Medvedev and runner-up Zverev
- The world No 1 will also face Argentina’s Schwartzman in London next week
- Nadal takes on Rublev, Thiem and defending champion Tsitsipas
Separated from second seed Rafael Nadal, the 33 year-old Serb will face both players who made the final of the Paris Masters on Sunday, winner Daniil Medvedev and runner-up Alex Zverev.
The fourth player will be Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman.
Novak Djokovic has been placed in the tougher of the two groups for the ATP Finals in London
Group Tokyo 1970: Djokovic, Medvedev, Zverev, Schwartzman.
Group London 2020: Nadal, Thiem, Tsitsipas, Rublev.
Nadal, whose record at the 02 Arena is relatively modest, has the in-form Russian Andrey Rublev plus Dominic Thiem and defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, who have had recent injury struggles.
The tournament starts on Sunday for the last time in London before moving to Turin next year.
Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski’s chance of taking the eighth qualifying place in the doubles event is alive after they made the final of the Sofia Open, but they are relying on their rivals Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Jurgen Melzer losing in Friday’s semi-finals.
