Corona virus in Egypt
The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that 56 deaths and 996 new cases of Coronavirus were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The ministry stated in its daily report, that the total number of deaths due to the virus in the country reached 8,362, while the total number of infections reached 152,719.
On January 12, the Egyptian Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, the “Long Live Egypt” Fund, and the Talaat Mostafa Group signed a cooperation protocol to donate the vaccination of 2 million citizens with the Corona vaccine.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health confirmed that communication is being made with all concerned parties in the world to supply the vaccine to Egypt.
The Ministry of Health said that it and the Ministry of Finance are about to sign with the International Organization for Vaccines and Serums (Gavi) to obtain Egypt’s share of Corona virus vaccines, as 20% of Egypt’s vaccination needs will be provided.
The Ministry of Health added that the supply of shipments of the Chinese vaccine is being completed, in addition to that the (AstraZenka) vaccine will be registered upon obtaining the approval of the Egyptian Drug Authority, and there is also contact with the (Pfizer) company to provide the registration file for the vaccine in Egypt.
