Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, on Monday, that the Turkish people believe that the establishment of a political system capable of representing all Syrians is necessary to restore peace and stability again.
Erdogan added that the re-establishment of peace and stability in the region is linked to the honest Western support for Turkey, and said: “I say it with pride, the Turkish position has not changed since the start of the war in Syria.”
The Turkish president pointed out that “the humanitarian situation in Syria will be the final measure of the sincerity of our positions, especially since the defense of human rights, freedoms and democracy has been in circulation lately.”
Erdogan stressed that a peaceful and lasting solution will only be possible by respecting the territorial integrity and political unity of Syria, pointing out that the safe areas that Turkey has established with local Syrian elements are evidence of our commitment to the future of our neighbor, Syria.
The Turkish President urged the administration of US President Joe Biden to fulfill its promises and work with Turkey to end the tragedy in Syria, expressing his rejection of all plans that do not meet the basic demands of the Syrian people, because they will only deepen the crisis, he said.
