Rio de Janeiro, Nov 25 (.).- Brazil received 82,291 million dollars in foreign direct investment in the first eleven months of the year, 59.4% higher than in the same period of 2021 and enough to finance the entire deficit in the the country’s balance of payments, the Central Bank reported on Wednesday.
This increase allowed the investment of foreigners in productive projects in Brazil in the last twelve months until November to be located at 77,100 million, 4.09% of GDP.
This value is 46.3% higher than that accumulated in the twelve months between December 2020 and November 2021 (52.7 billion dollars or 3.20% of GDP).
Accumulated foreign investment in the last year up to November already exceeds that of all of 2021 (46,439 million dollars), doubles that of 2020 (37,786 million) and is also greater than that of 2019 (69,174 million), before the crisis caused by the pandemic will scare away foreign investors.
With 82,291 million dollars received this year until November, Brazil should end 2022 with the highest foreign direct investment in the last eight years, above the 78,163 million of 2018 and only behind that received in 2014 (87,714 million).
This is because the total foreign resources received by Brazil in December amounted to 3,343 million until the 16th.
The result of November contributed to the strong increase in accumulated investment in 2022, when the country received 8,338 million dollars from foreigners, a value 65.7% higher than that of the same month of 2021 (5,031 million).
