Grupo Modelo obtains certification to manufacture Budweiser in Mexico

In the midst of soccer fever, Budweiser, “the king of beer” and sponsor of the Qatar World Cup, is back in Mexico. And he returns with the news that this country already has the certification to produce it. “Made in Mexico”, can be read on its packaging.

“The brewing experts certified that it can be made here. It is something that we achieved recently. We highlight it because there are not many countries that have that category, about 10”, said the director of Premium brands of Grupo Modelo, Alejandro Gutiérrez.

The mystique of beer includes the fact that 30 days are required to achieve its balance, with aromas of honey and citrus, a golden color and a fresh taste like the first day.

The manager recalled that during the last World Cup there was a timid presence of Budweiser in Mexico because it ceased to be a priority for the group in this market and there was full support for local brands, such as Victoria.

Six years later, things are totally different. The drink created 143 years ago returns with force.

“We understood that the strength of our business lies in having more brands so that consumers find more alternatives and we said: what better opportunity than the World Cup in Qatar, where we have Budweiser as the official sponsor. We are fully back in reconnecting with our consumers,” he added.

In addition, the brand comes with the promotion of a commercial in which three soccer giants worldwide participate: Messi, Neymar and Sterling.

Mexico exported beers to the world for a value of 5,016 million dollars in 2021, with which it managed to increase its participation in the world market for eight consecutive years, according to data from the World Trade Organization (WTO).
