Coronavirus in Hong Kong
The Health Protection Center in Hong Kong, China, announced that the genetic sequence analysis of samples from two cases of corona infection matched the mutated strain of the virus that was discovered in Britain.
The head of the infectious diseases department of the center, Chuang Sok-Kwan, explained that the two cases were students who arrived from Britain.
She said, “One of the students recovered and was discharged from hospital, and the second student is still receiving treatment.”
She added, “The local health authorities have arranged to impose a quarantine on those in contact with the patients.”
Hong Kong recorded 53 new cases of corona in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 8,353.
