The Houston Rockets have agreed to a four-year $80million contract with shooting guard Dillon Brooks and also have reached terms on a four-year $32million deal with Jock Landale, according to ESPN,.
Brooks’ acquisition is set to come in the form of a sign-and-trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, that is expected to send Josh Christopher to Memphis and generate a substantial trade exception for the team.
Houston is also finalizing a trade with the Brooklyn Nets to acquire veteran point guard Patty Mills, according to the Athletics Shams Charania.
The trio of deals come a day after Houston agreed to give the first max-contract of this year’s free agency period to former Raptors point guard Fred Vanvleet a three-year $130 million contract.
Brooks averaged 14.3 points on 39.6 percent shooting last year for the Memphis Grizzlies who finished second place in the Western Conference.Â

Athletic young wings Kenyon Martin Jr and Josh Christopher are being traded from Houston
He spent all six seasons of his career with the Grizzlies after being drafted by Memphis with the No. 45 overall pick back in 2017.
The 27-year-old became symbolic of the Grizzlies confident attitude and unique swagger, while also earning a reputation as one of the NBA’s top antagonists.Â
Brooks went on to struggle in the postseason series against the Los Angeles Lakers that saw Memphis eliminated in the first round, and the team eventually announced they had no interest in re-signing him – which ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins called ‘very disturbing.’
Landale averaged 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds as a member of the Phoenix Suns second unit last season. He appeared in 69 games and averaged just over 14 minutes per appearance.
The 27-year-old forward played in a rotational role in his rookie season for the San Antonio Spurs as well but saw his production increase during his season in Phoenix.
Mills is a 14-year-veteran that spent the last two seasons with the Nets after suiting up for the Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers earlier in his career.
It was also noted that Houston does not have the cap space to afford Mill’s deal currently as a result of their other acquisitions, however that issue can be resolved by shedding salary in a separate trade or turning the deal with Brooklyn into a three-team trade.
Houston appears to be working to fix that salary cap situation quickly as they agreed to a subsequent deal to send Kenyon Martin Jr. to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for two second-round draft picks.
