New York Knicks point guard Kemba Walker showed a good individual level in the loss to the Boston Celtics. Walker returned to the TD Garden after the transfer last summer and wanted to vindicate himself twice: before the Celtics management and before the Knicks coaching staff, who had not given him the opportunity to play since last November 26.
The numerous casualties forced Tom Thibodeau to give him a chance again after removing him from rotation. Kemba wanted to shine with his own light and finished the game with 29 points in 37 minutes, with a remarkable 5 of 11 in triples. After the game, the Knicks player claimed more minutes with his statements.
I know I should be playing. I could be angry. I might get mad. But at the end of the day, there are some guys here who look up to me. I’m pretty sure they wanted to see how I would react to the situation. Anyone on my team may be in the same situation in the future. Maybe I can be a role model in that regard, “he told the media.
Walker, a native of the Bronx, gave up part of the money he had signed to be able to sign for the Knicks. Now, after being left out of the rotation and despite arousing the interest of other franchises, he is focused on being a good example for the team and recovering his minutes. The decision is in the hands of Tom Thibodeau.
