Miami Heat added its third consecutive victory, the eighth in the last ten games, at home of some unknown Atlanta Hawks (115-91). While the Heat are going through one of their best moments of the season, Nate McMillan’s men are getting further and further away from the top of the table and have already lost nine in a row playing at home.
A 16-0 run for the Heat to start the third quarter marked a game that was being tied. Erik Spoelstra’s team came out of the locker room better and the Hawks couldn’t keep up with his scoring pace. Omer Yurtseven surprised again with a great performance. The Uzbek with Turkish nationality is being the perfect substitute for Bam Adebayo and finished the duel with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
Tyler Herro, who once again came off the bench, was the most outstanding player of the match and bordered on the triple double with 21 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds. The Heat’s sixth man matched his personal best in assists. With this victory, the Heat finish their series of games away from home 4-2 and remain with a 26-15 record in third place in the Eastern Conference.
The Hawks brought back DeAndre Hunter, who hadn’t played since last November. Hunter was the most positive news of the team and scored 15 points, 13 of them in the first half. Trae Young didn’t have his best night and finished with 15 points and 5 assists while shooting just 26% from the field. Only John Collins, with 16 points and 11 rebounds, lived up to his usual performance.
The beginning of the reviews
After the game, Atlanta Hawks coach Nate McMillan was confused after being asked if they were angry enough. “We are angry. What kind of question is that? I don’t understand it,” replied the technician. The last victory of the Hawks at home dates from last November 22, against the Thunder, and the criticism among fans of the franchise is getting bigger and bigger.
Another of those who went through a press conference was DeAndre Hunter, who despite his reappearance was also disappointed by the defeat. The Hawks player did not highlight any special reaction in the locker room.“It was just the typical talk of the coach after the game, nothing special», he declared. The Hawks’ commitment seems more in doubt than ever after his fans booed him in his own pavilion.
