Madrid, Aug 8 (.).- The investment of Spanish companies to finance real estate and furniture assets through leasing reached 3,702 million euros in the first half of 2022, 3.7% more than in the same period of 2021, according to the data given this Monday by the Spanish Association of Leasing and Renting (AELR).
Leasing on personal property grew more than 10% to 3,415 million, while investment by companies in real estate was 287 million, 38.6% less than in 2021.
The region that continues to lead this investment formula is Madrid, followed by Catalonia, although with disparate evolutions, since in the first it rose 35.8% (up to 669 million) and in Barcelona it fell 19%, to 656 million euros.
The average duration of the leasing contracts stood at 55.4 months this first semester, a figure somewhat lower than the 56.6 months of the same period of 2021.
In monthly data, in June leasing moved 733 million euros, 6.2% less than in the same month of 2021. Investment in personal property fell by 4.8% to 692 million, while investment in real estate real estate fell by 24.1% with operations worth 41 million.
