Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi confirmed that he feels that Inter deserve more than their dramatic 2-2 draw with Atalanta, and that the Nerazzurri were already close to winning because they are the best, during the meeting between the two teams today, Saturday.
Inter Milan fell into the trap of a 2-2 draw with its guest, Atalanta, in the exciting match that brought the two teams together on Saturday evening, at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, in the sixth round of the Italian League for the current season 2021-2022.
Inzaghi said, during comments published by the “Football Italia” network: “People have undoubtedly enjoyed, but we feel a bitter taste from this draw, as we feel that we could have had more. The first and second half also against the very strong Atalanta.”
He added, “It is a pleasure for the coach to see the players sit on the bench in this position and make the difference. The second half was at a very good level, we performed well in the first 25 minutes, then Atalanta was stronger in the rest of the half.”
“I am proud, because we saw two teams that did their best in search of victory,” he continued.
Inter Milan raised its score to 14 points to occupy third place in the Italian league table, which is led by Milan with 16 points, after its victory earlier in the day against Spezia 2-1, while Atalanta’s balance rose to 11 points in fifth place.
