Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations Majid Takht Rawanji said that the Iranian people do not have confidence in Washington, so “the American side must take the first step in returning to the nuclear agreement.”
In a press interview, Takht Rawanji said: “Our people have absolutely no confidence in the words of the United States, so it is the United States that must start implementing its obligations to win the confidence of the Iranian people.”
He added, “The illegal and unilateral exit of the United States from the nuclear agreement has made Iran lose confidence in it,” stressing that Washington should take the first step to return the agreement to its main track.
He continued: “The exit of the United States (two years ago) from the nuclear agreement has dealt a big blow to its credibility and international laws, so we do not trust America’s words and it should start to return to its obligations in the agreement to gain Iran’s confidence.”
He pointed out that “the United States left the negotiating table and the nuclear agreement and violated UN Resolution 2231, and not Iran.”
