The commander of the Iraqi Air Defense Forces, Major General Maan Al-Saadi, confirmed today, Monday, that all aircraft entering the airspace of Iraq are under control, and indicated that there are some violations.
In a press statement, he said, “There are endeavors for the purpose of purchasing more advanced weapons, radar detection systems and defense weapon interceptors with greater ranges.”
He added, “All aircraft that enter Iraq are under the sight of the Air Defense Command, and no aircraft will enter Iraqi airspace, except after there is coordination and approval from the higher commanders of the armed forces.”
Major General Al-Saadi pointed out, “There are violations that may occur, but they are monitored, and the command references are informed about them, and they are violations that occur through entry of aircraft in an unauthorized direction.”
Officials in Iraq talk continuously about the Iraqi airspace being infiltrated, and it is controlled by the United States of America and foreign security companies.
