She confirmed that the Commissioner-General of the Israeli Police had held an important meeting with the Israeli Chief of Staff, General Aviv Kochavi, and it was agreed to establish two women’s battalions, provided that the decision will be implemented within the next few days.
It quoted security officials as saying that the female soldiers would work mainly in a part of the northern city of Rosh Ha’ayin, northern Israel, to prevent any terrorist or criminal activities.
She indicated that this military zone includes a joint task force of the Israeli army and border guards together, and that the two women’s battalions will be tasked with following the security measures in the northern West Bank.
