The base of the Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant, has been included in the health and safety protocols for COVID-19 of the NBA, as announced by the franchise itself.
The 22-year-old Morant had missed the last five teams on his team due to a sprained knee suffered on Nov. 26 during a game against the Atlanta Hawks. At the moment, a specific deadline for his return to the league’s courts has not been shared.
The Grizzlies star thus becomes the latest player in the league to enter these protocols, a trend that has been amplified in recent days. The Charlotte Hornets, with five players involved, and the Chicago Bulls, with four, emerge as the two teams most affected at the moment.
In this course, Morant averages 24.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists in a total of 19 games. Despite his absence, the Grizzlies have won all their matches and currently occupy fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 14-10.
