John Cena has silenced speculation about his wrestling future, reaffirming his plans to retire from WWE and confirming the date of his final match.
In a recent social media post, the actor and wrestling superstar addressed rumors by standing by his initial announcement. “I am far from perfect but strive to be a person whose word has value,” Cena wrote on X. “12/13/25 will be my final match. I am beyond grateful for every moment WWE has given me. I am excited… & look forward to seeing all of you one last time.”
Cena’s farewell performance is set for WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025, at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The Peacemaker star first announced his retirement during a surprise appearance at the Money in the Bank event in Toronto on July 6, 2024. During his address to the crowd, he expressed his deep gratitude to the fans.
“Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years,” Cena said at the time. “Thank you so much always for your voice, because it’s really loud, and your honesty, because it’s beautifully brutal.”
