Former NBA player Kenneth Faried has reached an agreement to join the ranks of CSKA Moscow. His current team, the Leones de Ponce de Puerto Rico, confirmed this through an official statement.
“The player had an exit clause to the Euroleague, China or the NBA, and a full offer came to him at CSKA Moscow in Russia. We are now evaluating our options to reactivate Thompson depending on tonight’s medical evaluation, among other things. We thank Faried for accepting our invitation, even at the high risk of it, and we wish him the best in Russia.
Faried, who this past summer joined the Blazers to play the Las Vegas Summer League, has averaged 12 points and 9.3 rebounds in Puerto Rico with 53% shooting from the field.
At CSKA Moscow he will soon be under the command of coach Dimitrios Itoudis and will coincide with his compatriots Darrun Hilliard and Will Clyburn.
Faried has NBA career averages of 11.4 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 24.5 minutes in 478 official games (385 as a starter).
