The Cleveland Cavaliers have managed to get the services of Kevin Pangos, as announced by Priority Sports, the player’s representation agency. The point guard has agreed to join the Ohio franchise for two seasons in exchange for $ 3.5 million, of which the $ 1.67 million for the first year is fully guaranteed.
The Canadian comes from signing a great season at Zenit de San Petesburgo, with whom he averaged 13.5 points and 6.6 assists that earned him part of the best quintet in the Euroleague. His addition allows the Cavaliers to add some experience to the backcourt, something they already did with the arrival of Ricky Rubio, thus giving a certain counterpoint to the youth that Collin Sexton and Darius Garland boast about.
Pangos thus manages to reach the NBA after his failed attempt to do so through the draft. In 2015, with the university cycle completed in Gonzaga, the base appeared to be chosen, but no franchise chose to take over his services, which led him to land in Gran Canaria. There he began his career in European basketball, which would later take him to Kaunas, Barcelona and Saint Petersburg, a trajectory that has allowed him to finish forging himself as a player and, now, to make the leap to American basketball.
