When it was reported that Kyrie Irving needed the assistance of crutches to exit Fiserv Forum on Sunday night following the Milwaukee Bucks’ 107-96 victory over Brooklyn in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series, it appeared unlikely the star guard would be able to play Tuesday night in Brooklyn for Game 5.
That is indeed the case, as Nets head coach Steve Nash said Monday that Irving is out for the contest.
Not only that, but the Nets have also confirmed that James Harden will miss Game 5, meaning the Nets will have just Kevin Durant among their “big three” available for the clash at the Barclays Center, tipping off at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday (on TNT).
The 29-year-old point guard Irving severely turned his right ankle with about six minutes to go in the second quarter after making a floater in the paint and landing on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s foot.

Irving remained on his back for some time before finally limping off to the locker room. He had averaged 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4.3 assists before his exit in the series.
Harden re-aggravated a hamstring in the first minute of Game 1 and has not seen any additional time in the series.
