Our correspondent reported that a number of demonstrators from the “Likud” party and the Israeli right, attempted to attack MP Yusef Jabareen in the Israeli Supreme Court, which is examining the “Nationality Law.”
The correspondent said that while Deputy Jabareen was in the Supreme Court to attend the debate on the petition filed by Adalah against the Nationality Law, the Likud and extreme right protesters who were outside the court attempted to assault him while he was leaving the courtroom, using racist and inciting expressions against Representative Jabarin and the deputies Arabs and Arab citizens, including “Death to the Arabs”.
For his part, MP Jabareen said, “This racist and inflammatory atmosphere is a direct result of the Nationalism Law, which came to nourish the feeling of the ethnic superiority of the Jews in the country and legitimize racism against Arab citizens.”
He added, “It is not surprising that Likud activists are actually translating the systematic incitement led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against Arab citizens and against the representatives of the Joint List.”
Jabareen asserted that the “horns of racist incitement and their” thugs “will not deter us from continuing our struggle against the national law, and we will continue to fight by all possible means, public, parliamentary and judicial, to abolish the racist nationalism law and to confirm our status as equal citizens in our country.
