Majority in deputies to negotiate the 6 additional days to the vacations, they will not be continuous

On the Board of Directors of the Labor and Social Welfare Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, the path of the reform on “decent vacations” is defined, with 10 votes in favor of the change in the opinion and two votes against, it is sought that the six additional days of the vacation period can be negotiated with the employer and are not taken in a single exhibition.

The votes in favor are from Citizen movement, AT, PAN y Morenaexcept for the deputies of this party Susana Prieto Terrazas and Araceli Ocampo, who sought to pass the opinion without modifications, that is, taking into account the one approved in the Senate of the Republic.

The meeting took place prior to the session held this Tuesday by the Labor and Social Welfare Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and chaired by the morenista Jesus Baldenebro.

Alejandro Avilés, a labor specialist, commented that the fundamental change is in article 78, which states that “workers must enjoy at least six days of vacation continuously, out of the total period that corresponds to them in accordance with what provided for in article 76 of this Law”.

The foregoing, he said, represents that “the workers will have the power and the right to agree with the employer the way and times in which they will enjoy the vacation days that they have in their favor, either continuously or partially.”
