TINLEY PARK, Ill. – A large-scale manhunt is underway for four possibly armed suspects following a vehicle crash on Monday morning, prompting authorities to issue a shelter-in-place order for the surrounding area.
The Tinley Park Police Department is assisting Matteson police in the search. The incident began after five individuals, described as wearing black clothing, fled on foot heading westbound from a crash site at the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Vollmer Road. One of the five suspects has since been taken into custody.
The Will County Sheriff’s Office has issued the shelter-in-place order for the immediate vicinity of Harlem Avenue and Vollmer Road in Frankfort Square. Residents in the area are being urged to remain indoors and lock their doors while the search continues.
Authorities have not yet released additional information about the nature of the crash or the suspects.
