Yesterday, Monday, during a remote working session, the strategic project between the Tunisian Post and its Mauritanian counterpart was launched to establish and focus a system for digital financial services via mobile phones in Mauritania.
According to what has been announced, Tunisian Post will lay down its experience in the field of digital payment via mobile phone, and its competencies in the Mauritanian postal service to develop a digital system for mobile payment, in addition to providing technical accompaniment and support services to the Mauritanian side, to formulate a digital strategy in this field.
This digital system will enable Mauritanian Post to benefit from money transfer services, disbursing university scholarships and university registration fees for students, as well as disbursing retirement pensions, and paying bills and loan installments to microfinance institutions.
The success in completing this project between the two institutions will contribute to its focus on some other postal institutions, in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank, according to Mauritanian media.
