Egyptian Mayar Sharif qualified to the second round of the Australian Open, the first of the Grand Slam tennis tournament, by winning in the first round over French Chloe Baki in two clean sets.
The 24-year-old Egyptian player managed to win the match in two groups, without pay, by 7-5 and 7-5.

According to the official website of the Tennis Federation, Sherif is the first Egyptian player to win one of the four major tournaments in the world of yellow football.
In the second round, Sharif will face the Slovenian player, Kaga Jovan, who qualified after the withdrawal of her British rival, Johanna Kunta, due to an injury, when the result indicated that Jovan advanced the second group by two free games, while Conta decided the first group in her favor with a score of 6-4.
