On Monday, the Mexican Ministry of Health announced that it had recorded 7,407 infections and 866 new deaths from the Corona virus in the country, which is facing high levels of deaths due to the pandemic, amid difficulties in the field of vaccinating the population.
The Ministry stated, in a new statistic, that the death toll from confirmed cases of the Coronavirus, which causes the “Covid-19” infection, has increased during the past 24 hours, by 7407, to reach the level of 2137884 cases.
This comes after the index of recorded infections with the Corona virus in Mexico on March 6, 1877, reached 6561 cases, on March 7, 2734, and on March 8, 1877.
The ministry also stated that, during the past day, it had detected 866 deaths from the disease, bringing the number of victims of the pandemic in Mexico to 191,789 people, with a lethality rate of 8.97%, which represents one of the highest levels in the world.
On March 6, the number of new deaths reached 779, on March 7, 247, and on March 8, 319.
Mexico is the 13th country in the world in terms of the number of recorded infections with the Coronavirus, but it ranks 3 in terms of the death toll from the disease.
Health officials in Mexico have expressed concern about the slow pace of supplying the country with vaccines, at a time when rich countries are saving large reserves for them.
At the same time, health sector representatives have repeatedly indicated that the real numbers of infections and deaths due to the Corona virus in the country may be much higher than the official toll.
