On Wednesday, the Moroccan Ministry of Health announced the registration of 466 new cases of Coronavirus, down from 526 Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 490088.
The Kingdom also recorded eight new deaths due to the virus, up from 4 on Tuesday, bringing the total to 8,745.
And 578 new cases have recovered, bringing the total of those recovered to 477,305 cases.
On the other hand, the Moroccan Ministry of Health recommended continuing to use the AstraZeneca vaccine, as Morocco had imported quantities of it in addition to the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.
“The National Pharmacovigilance Advisory Committee confirmed that the benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine outweigh the risks,” a Ministry of Health statement said.
The statement added: “There is no direct link between these side effects and the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, so it recommends that it continue to be used in the vaccination campaigns nationwide.”
And he continued: “No deaths were recorded among the beneficiaries of the AstraZeneca vaccine as a result of complications from the side effects of the vaccine.”
Morocco vaccinated 4 million 2336386 people with the first dose of the vaccine, and 1 million 960996 people with the second dose.
