NBA star Caris LeVert’s ‘$93,000 Peugeot watch was stolen during a party at his LA-area home’: Cavaliers forward is the latest athlete to get burglarized in southern California
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Caris LeVert (pictured) is claiming to be the victim of a robbery after his $93,000 watch was stolen during a party at his Los Angeles-area home earlier this month, according to TMZ. The 28-year-old Columbus, Ohio native discovered an open watch case in his bedroom during the festivities and the rare timepiece was missing. TMZ reports that police were told someone was seen entering LeVert’s bedroom earlier in the evening.
The case is reportedly under investigation by the LAPD. Department spokespeople did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment early Thursday morning. LeVert – a relative of O’Jays singer Eddie LeVert – is a significant rotation player for the Cavs, averaging 30.2 minutes, 12.1 points, 3.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds en route to a playoff berth for Cleveland. The Cavaliers were ultimately bounced in the first round by the New York Knicks.
The former University of Michigan star is just the latest athlete to be robbed in Los Angeles. Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green’s LA-area home was reportedly looted of more than $1 million worth of watches, jewelry and other items during Super Bowl LVI in 2022 weeks after a pair of British Supercross athletes were robbed at gunpoint in Hollywood.
Previously, former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig’s home was burglarized while playing in Houston during the 2017 World Series, but that same crew was caught fleeing Los Angeles Rams receiver Robert Woods’ home the following year.
Four arrests were made in the case: Tyress Lavon Williams, 19; Damaji Corey Hall, 18; and Jshawne Lamon Daniels, 19. Police believe the crew were also responsible for several other celebrity home burglaries, and said they found a list containing the names and addresses of more than a dozen athletes, musicians and actors the teens planned to burglarize. A search warrant of their home uncovered more than $50,000 in cash, plus watches, jewelry and designer purses.
