December is being a terrifying month when it comes to casualties due to COVID-19. The NBA has counted up to 104 absences for this reason, and the Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks squads have been especially punished.
And as the wheel can’t stop turning, the teams have been quick to reinforce their respective rosters on the basis of 10-day temporary contracts with old league acquaintances among them.
Isaiah Thomas has gone to the Los Angeles Lakers; more recently Lance Stephenson signed with the Atlanta Hawks; Tim Frazier with the Orlando Magic; CJ Miles with the Celtics; Dotson has returned to the Knicks, and a long etcetera.
