With the season getting closer and closer, the NBA has wanted to warn unvaccinated players of another of the indirect consequences of its decision. Since the Raptors will play in Canada again this season, all teams will have to travel there at least once in the regular season, twice in some cases, so the league has reminded those who do not have any dose of the strict measures to those that will be subjected in the neighboring country and the fines that they would face in case of not respecting them.
The most important of these rules is clear, and that is that unvaccinated players will not be able to leave their hotel except to go to games and training sessions, as Shams Charania, a journalist from The Athletic. The penalty for those who violate such a measure will be quite severe, reaching a fine of $ 750,000 or even six months in jail.
In order for the Raptors to be able to return to play the season normally, the Canadian government has granted teams an exception that allows them not to have to pass the mandatory 14-day quarantine for those who enter the country. Even so, all members of the different templates that cross the border must submit a negative test for covid-19 and, in the case of those not vaccinated, undergo quarantine except to go to the Scotiabank Arena.
As of today, 96% de players have received the vaccination schedule, according to Kavitha A. Davidson, from The Athletic.
