The Philadelphia 76ers have won their fifth consecutive game in Orlando. However, it was not all smiles on the team led by Doc Rivers. After the game, Tobias Harris wanted to settle a controversy with the Wells Fargo Center fans that has haunted him since the last victory, when he addressed his own fans to tell them not to applaud him after booing him.
The Sixers did not suffer too much to take the duel against the Magic (116-106). Seth Curry was the most successful player since the beginning of the match. The point guard finished with 22 points, 12 assists and a more than acceptable 61% shooting from the field. Embiid was the top scorer of the game and accompanied Seth with 31 points. The newly named player of the month has five consecutive games finishing above 30 points.
Much of the eyes of 76ers fans were on Tobias Harris, who is slowly getting back a good version of his game. He finished the game with 22 points and improved his shooting percentages compared to his last performances. His irregularity had cost him the odd boo from his own hobby. Harris wanted to take advantage of his improvement to put his confrontation with the fans behind him. “No one has died, they have just booed me,” he acknowledged at the end of the game, trying to iron out the matter.
From the coaching staff they also support Tobias. The team’s assistant coach Dan Burke was quick to point out earlier in the week that the locker room and coaching staff have a lot of faith in Tobias and that that should empower him, regardless of what others may think of his game.
With this victory the Sixers surpass the Cleveland Cavaliers and reach fifth place in the Eastern Conference. After an uneven start to the season, it seems that Philly’s are getting closer to where they belong.
