The poor start to the season for the Indiana Pacers (13th with a 10-16 record) has prompted top offices to watch the rebuild button with great interest. The Indianapolis franchise aims to star in a coup and several of its main players are on the starting ramp.
As reported by the media The Athletic, the Pacers will hear offers for Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner and Caris LeVert. In the case of the inner game, the journalist Shams Charania points out that only one of the two would be the injured. The Pacers have received numerous offers for their frontcourt over the past few years, so it wouldn’t be difficult to close a trade.
The departure of these pieces would confirm the bet on Chris Duarte and Isaiah Jackson, the 13th and 22nd picks in the 2021 draft, in order to be part of the strong core of the Pacers. For his part, TJ Warren has conveyed to management his desire to continue with the team.
In the past, team president Kevin Pritchard has tried to convince owner Herb Simon that a rebuild is necessary, including in 2017, but Simon always refused, justifying his desire to race at all times and avoid the tanking. Now, the owner has joined this approach.
It is not clear how urgent this exit operation will be, but since The Athletic They point out that the franchisee will be patient when it comes to approaching the negotiations and making a final decision that is as positive as possible for their interests.
