Pacific Alliance is successful, says Marcelo Ebrard

The Foreign Secretary, Marcelo Ebrardassured that the Pacific Alliance is successful, works and will grow.

During the meeting of the Council of Ministers within the framework of the XVII Summit of the Pacific Alliance, the foreign minister highlighted that the alliance has requests from countries to enter.

“We are very optimistic about the Pacific Alliance (…) this is an alliance that has many requests to join, the alliances that do not work have requests to leave, which simply do not move,” he said in a brief message to the media at the opening of the meeting held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“This alliance is a successful alliance and we have, as I have already indicated, several countries presenting their interest in joining,” he added.

In the opening meeting The Undersecretary of International Economic Relations of Chile, José Miguel Ahumada; the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia, Germán Umaña Mendoza; Laura Gil Savastano, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru, César Landa Arroyo.

Ebrard explained that the representatives of Canada, South Korea, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras and Singapore will be received at the meeting of ministers.
