PRD files complaint against Governor of Veracruz for supporting Delfina Gómez

The PRD filed a complaint today with the National Electoral Institute (INE) against the governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García, and his secretary of government, Eric Cisneros, for allegedly diverting resources to the campaign of the candidate from Morena to the State of Mexico, Delfina Gomez Alvarez.

The complaint stems from a publication that Eric Cisneros made on his Facebook account where he revealed that he joined the Morena brigades in Toluca to support Delfina Gómez’s campaign.

“In Toluca, at the invitation of teacher Delfina Gómez, candidate for governor of the State of Mexico, I joined the transformation brigades. As our Governor Cuitláhuac García instructs us, the strength of the 4T is in its citizens, with whom we transform Mexico and Veracruz that fills us with pride”, Eric Cisneros posted.

Ángel Ávila, representative of the PRD before the INE, filed an appeal before the Complaints and Complaints Commission for possible violations of the Constitution, for the undue interference of public officials in the electoral process of the State of Mexico and possible use of public resources to generate Government propaganda in favor of the Morena party and its candidate. Also due to the possible violation of the principles of equity, impartiality and neutrality of the contest.

“Morena’s fear of losing the elections is of that size, they are capable of breaking and violating all democratic rules. That the electoral authority do its job and proceed to the corresponding sanctions to stop the intervention of other officials who want to come to act as electoral raccoons and try to undermine the will of the Mexicans. We will be pending and no. We will stop pointing out the tricky meddling of morenista governments in the election of the state of Mexico, ”he said.

The complaint document also exhibited photographs showing official vehicles of the Veracruz government allegedly transporting people to the State of Mexico for a political event by Morena and her candidate.

The appeal asked the INE Commission to give a hearing to its Technical Oversight Unit, in order to determine the direct benefit and be accounted for in campaign spending of the candidate Delfina Gómez.

In addition, as preventive protection, he asked the Commission for precautionary measures so that the governor of Veracruz refrains from diverting resources of a public nature, involving human resources, materials, official vehicles, or any other belonging to the state government for purposes of support and participation in the ongoing electoral campaign in the State of Mexico.
