Caracas, Nov 30 (.).- The official price of the dollar in Venezuela has increased 8.2% in a week and has been located this Wednesday at 11.07 bolivars, the Central Bank (BCV) has reported.
The currency price, which governs a large part of the commercial transactions in the country, increased 84 cents compared to Wednesday of last week, when it exceeded 10 bolivars, reaching 10.23, according to the source.
In this way, the local currency -the bolivar- has devalued 7.5% in the last week.
So far in 2022, the price of the dollar has increased by 141.7% compared to January 3 -the first business day of the year-, when the currency cost 4.58 bolivars in the official market, which has caused a devaluation of the bolivar of 58.6% since then.
Meanwhile, the dollar in the parallel market exceeded 13 bolivars this Wednesday, when it closed at 13.05, according to the Monitor Dólar Venezuela portal, which offers the daily price taking various markers into account.
The increase in the exchange rate has a direct impact on the prices of goods and services, most of which are set in dollars.
Venezuela emerged last December from a hyperinflation that it entered in 2017 and that, for four years, reduced the value of the bolivar, as well as the confidence of citizens in the national currency, for which they unofficially adopted the dollar in an attempt to protect their income.
