Pro-Palestine activists are planning to carry out a series of sledgehammer attacks on British defense contractors with alleged ties to Israel. This comes shortly after they claimed responsibility for defacing the BBC headquarters with red paint. Palestine Action intends to target the buildings associated with three companies: Elbit Systems, Rafael, and Teledyne. The Sun on Sunday was able to infiltrate a Zoom meeting held by the activist group, where leaders encouraged attendees to participate in the upcoming attacks, providing instruction manuals on how to break into and vandalize buildings using sledgehammers and fire extinguishers. Lord John Woodcock, the Government’s anti-extremism czar, condemned the plot, citing the potential risk to British workers and criminal damage to vital defense firms. Previously, Palestine activists have already faced legal consequences for attacking UK buildings. Palestine Action claimed responsibility for defacing the BBC headquarters with red paint, accusing the BBC of supporting Israel’s war crimes. The instruction manual mentioned during the Zoom meeting emphasizes that the purpose of the activists’ actions is to disrupt, damage, or destroy their targets. Activists are also advised to borrow a neighbor’s dog to distract attention and to strike when no one is around. They are instructed to wear dark, loose clothing and purchase burner phones. Rich, the person leading the call, stated that the days of controlled resistance in the West are ending and that disruption is the minimum action required. The Metropolitan Police has urged anyone with information on potential criminal activity to contact them. The government has expressed zero tolerance for anti-Semitism and full support for the police in their efforts to crack down on any criminality. The Metropolitan police confirmed an instance of criminal damage to a building in Portland Place but stated that there is currently no suggestion it is linked to any protest group. Elbit Systems, Rafael, and Teledyne have been contacted for comment. In response to the recent controversy surrounding Hamas, Metropolitan police officers were seen patrolling outside the BBC headquarters in London after the building was vandalized with paint. Palestine Action, which admitted to the act, released a statement criticizing the BBC’s biased reporting and complicity in Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people. The incident occurred just before a planned pro-Palestinian march in London, where hundreds of protesters gathered outside the BBC headquarters in Portland Place. The protesters waved Palestine flags and held supportive placards, with the police monitoring the situation. A cordon was placed outside the BBC building following the paint attack. The Metropolitan Police authorized a Section 12 for the planned march, warning participants to stay on the designated route to avoid potential arrest.
