The Russian Cosmos Foundation announced that the Russian Progress MS-15 spacecraft has detached from the International Space Station, and after three hours, it will leave its orbit.
It is reported that the Progress MS-15 cargo vehicle had docked with the International Space Station in July 2020, and on February 9, 2021 it separated from it.

A representative of the Foundation’s media office said, in a statement to Novosti News Agency, that the vehicle’s engines started at 11:30 Moscow time, working to curb movement out of orbit. According to experts, at 12.04 Moscow time, the vehicle entered the Earth’s atmosphere and burned, and the remaining parts of it will fall into an unmanageable area in the Pacific Ocean.
As is known, the Progress MS-16 cargo vehicle is scheduled to be launched from Baikonur Space Airport by the Soyuz-2.1a transport missile on February 15th, and it is carrying nitrogen gas to the International Space Station to compensate for the shortage caused by the air leakage from the unit. It should be noted that the Progress cargo vehicles are used to transport cargo to the astronauts on the International Space Station: fuel, oxygen, air and drinking water. Since 1978, 167 spacecraft have been launched into space, three of which did not reach the International Space Station as a result of defects in transport missiles in 2011, 2015 and 2016.
