The match between Borussia Monchengladbach and Hoffenheim on Saturday, in the 13th round of the German Football League, witnessed an offensive incident far from sportsmanship.
The most famous referee of the match was the red card against French striker Marcus Thuram, son of Lilian Thuram, the famous defender of the French national team, for spitting in the face of one of Hoffenheim’s players.
And the game stopped in the 78th minute of the second half of the match, after the official in charge of the video assistive technology asked the referee Frank Villenburg to go to the screen in the “Borussia Park” stadium, in order to see what the Frenchman Marcus Thuram did.
The result at that time indicated a positive tie with a goal to like him, before the match ended in Hoffenheim’s favor 2-1.

After the match ended, coach Marco Rosi, coach of Borussia Monchengladbach, rushed to send a special message to all fans of the German League, saying: “On behalf of the team. I would like to make an official apology for the incident of the red card in which Marcus Thuram was involved.”
He continued: “What happened outside the texts of sportsmanship, and does not exist in the football stadiums. Marcus is a good person who thinks of himself, and grew up well. He expressed himself at that moment, and I apologize again. He offended his club.”
The French international striker, son of Lilian Thuram, who won the 1998 World Cup, has a good disciplinary record before that match, as this red card was his first with the club.
