The commander of the Russian Naval Fleet, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, announced that the naval forces will be reinforced by three nuclear submarines before the end of the month.
Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper quoted Evmenov as saying that the nuclear submarine designated for strategic missions, “Knyaz Oleg”, in addition to the two submarines “Kazan” and “Novosibirsk” will enter service by the end of this year.
The Russian Naval Fleet received its first strategic mission submarine of the “Knyaz Oleg” type in June last year, which is equipped with 16 “Bulava” ballistic missiles.
