A massive search is underway after a 13metre boat ran aground with the engine still running without any sign of the crew.

Lifeguards climbed onto the yacht and found a dog, the motor still on and no one on board.

Surf Life Saving Queensland said lifeguards at a nearby beach spotted the boat about 30 minutes earlier and went to investigate.
The coast guard, a rescue helicopter, a police boat and jet skis are searching out at sea in rough conditions to locate the crew.
A QLD police spokesman said a man had been found clinging to the ladder of a water beacon around 8pm.
Police are still working to determine how many other people were on the boat.
Local Glen Whisson said he noticed the boat at 4pm while walking along the beach.
‘It seemed to be drifting very aimlessly,’ Mr Whisson told the Daily Telegraph.
‘It came right ashore but there was nobody on board at all.
‘We’re hoping nothing tragic has happened… The inflatable dinghy on the back of the boat was just swinging around wildly.’
More to come.
