The arrival of Danny Ainge at the Utah Jazz offices heralded possible changes in the face of the imminent market closure. A winning team doesn’t change GM in the middle of the season if it isn’t to be ambitious, and Joe Ingles seems like the linchpin for Salt Lake City. The Jazz have been running like clockwork for a long time, and the Australian shooting guard bears much of the blame, but his departure seems the most viable when it comes to attracting talent that raises the team’s roof even more. The rest of the league knows it and the widespread interest in Ingles has grown exponentially in recent months.
Comments Michael Scotto en HoopsHype that the rumors on the player’s trade go back to draft night. Perhaps at that time the Jazz were in a better position. Ingles continues to be very important in the rotation and game of Quin Snyder’s men, but his weight in these tends to decline after starring in a tremendously productive past season. The Australian is 34 years old and ends his contract this summer, so it is the ideal time to try to get something in exchange for his departure.
Another of the players surrounded by this type of rumor is Bojan Bogdanovic, although his contract still has one more year left.
