The Emirates News Agency reported that the governments of the UAE and Israel have started official talks to establish a travel corridor free of quarantine to push for “bilateral exchanges”, following their conclusion of an agreement to normalize relations.
The agency said that the travel corridor will apply to “travelers who have received the vaccine against the Covid-19 virus, with the aim of facilitating the movement of travel for commercial, tourism and official purposes.”
The head of the Israeli mission in Abu Dhabi, Eitan Naih, revealed that the number of Israelis who have visited the UAE since the signing of the “Abraham Accords” last September has reached about 130,000 people.
He expected that about 50 thousand Israelis would visit the UAE on a monthly basis during the winter season, noting that “once the procedures related to the Corona virus vaccine are completed in both countries, the number of tourists is expected to increase in both directions.”
