“After the pertinent communication between the technical director Gerardo Martino and Jesús Manuel Corona is informed that the player will not be able to be integrated into the national team heading to the World Cup in Qatar. The foregoing, due to the fact that his recovery process has not been completed after the injury suffered in August,” reported the Mexican Football Federation.

The former player of Porto from Portugal, Twente from Holland and Monterey Striped de México was part of the selection in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and was included in a preliminary list of 31 players for the World Cup that begins on November 20 in Qatar.

Martino will announce the final call of 26 players on November 14.

In the last preparation matches for the World Cup, the “Tri” – as the Mexicans call their team – will face Iraq and Sweden in Girona, Spain, and Sweden on November 9 and 16, respectively.
