Teenager, 15, is stabbed to death in fight during the morning school run in west London

A teenager has been stabbed to death in a fight during the morning school run in west London.
Police found a 15-year-old boy suffering from multiple stab wounds after being called to reports of a fight on Blyth Road in Hayes at around 8.30am today.
The victim died at the scene. A suspect had been detained, said the Metropolitan Police, but provided no further details.
Formal identification of the victim has yet to take place and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course, the force added.
The fatal stabbing takes the number of teenagers murdered in London this year to 16, one less than the whole of 2020.
It follows seven people being arrested following the fatal stabbing of another teenager in Streatham, south London, yesterday afternoon.

Cordons remain in place at the scene around 500 yards from the Global Academy school.
Police commander for Hillingdon, Chief Superintendent Peter Gardner, said: ‘I am deeply saddened to hear of the tragic loss of a child’s life to knife crime in Hillingdon.
‘This incident, that claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy, took place during this morning’s school run.
‘A family has been devastated and the effects of this terrible incident will reverberate throughout our communities.
‘As a parent of a teenage boy myself, I cannot imagine the pain the family is going through and I offer our full condolences and support.’
He added that police patrols in the area would be stepped up.
In a statement, the Met said: ‘Officers are investigating following a fatal stabbing in Hillingdon.
‘Police were called at 08:34hrs on Friday, 11 June to a report of a fight on Blyth Road in Hayes.

‘Officers attended the location and found a 15-year-old boy suffering from multiple stab wounds.
‘Colleagues from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended and despite their efforts, the teenager sadly died at the scene.’
The force added: ‘A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification has not taken place.
‘A crime scene has been established and cordons remain in place at this time. Police have detained a suspect – no further details at this time.’
